2022, a year that has carried so much fun and successes for my photography. Here’s a summary!
Uganda
Sound, smell, color. Feelings and memories that define a place. But of course, also the images you bring home, especially if you’re a photographer! My big journey this year went to Uganda. We visited a lot of national parks and reserves, starting at Mgahinga, one of the Virunga mountains shared with Rwanda and Congo. Here you find both gorillas and golden monkeys, both threatened species but that for the moment they are safe. We worked our way up along the west side of the country to find chimpanzees, Ugandan red colobus and eastern bland and white colobus as well as many of the other species that live here.
As many have realized travelling isn’t free of problems, e.g. with the pollution contributing to climate issues. At the same time you also have to consider that many of the national parks in poor countries as well as the people around them live off the fees that visitors pay. If we stop going there, there’s a big risk that the jungle were gorillas, chimpanzees and so on turn into farm land or tree plantations.

Exhibitions, competitions and magazines
The book I released last year, In the twilight zone, has been the base for most of my exhibitions this year. It’s been shown in 7 places around the country. Interest is huge and there’s been many interesting discussions about the images and the story.
Congrats again! It’s one of the most common comments I’ve got on social media this year. I’ve received 16 different awards this year, with to golds for the book as the top results.
